Bei nherer Betrachtung fiel mir dann auf, dass die Laufflche teilweise nur noch hauchdnn ist. Also mssen die wohl doch mal erneuert werden. Das gibt mir die Gelegenheit, mal auf ein halb so schweres Modell zu wechseln.

This morning we attended an at the in Fremont.
Pierce was our guide for Exploring Chocolate: Taste and Learn and they were excellent! Very funny and engaging speaker as they walked us through the spectrum of dark chocolate and Theos Fair Trade certification and more. We had samples and got to grind up some beans (and learn why theyre not really beans but its okay to call them beans).
One bit of Pierces introduction that I hadnt experienced before, even with inclusive meeting trainings and similar, was that they talked about being autistic and how that meant for them they probably wouldnt make eye contact during the class and would often talk with their eyes closed and that just interrupting with a question would be better than raising a hand.
They had earlier noted that some of the content could be upsetting and during the segment on fair trade they emphasized that other mainstream chocolate brands almost certainly rely on child slavery, while they are building schools in DRC. Bit of a selling point for their $5 bars!
As a nice bonus all but one of the chocolates for sampling was vegan for that last one we just got extra pieces of a previous 70% dark sea salt. Overall was definitely reminded of a tour of Taza Chocolate in Somerville, MA that Andrle and I did over 10 years ago.
We popped by the Theo store afterwards to use the 15% discount that came with the class tickets and got a few bars. Of course I also had to get the pin featuring Gerald, their Sasquatch mascot.
A fun event and would definitely recommend it as a Seattle sight. Unfortunately they no longer operate their factory in Fremont (they needed to scale up) so cant tour that anymore.
